Freight Best Practice Programme Closure

31/03/2011 Dear Freight Best Practice programme users, The Department for Transport Freight Best Practice programme is ending today. However, the programme’s contents will be available for industry to use and build upon. Although the publication order hotline will close, the publications will still be available to download via the Business Link website at: www.businesslink.gov.uk/freightbestpractice Published material in the programme is available for free and flexible use under the terms of the Open Government Licence, the terms and conditions of which are given on The National Archives website at: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/ Parties which adapt or exploit the information under the licence are requested to acknowledge the source as  "Freight Best Practice – Department for Transport." Thank you for your use of the programme, and in particular to those companies and organisations that have contributed to the development and dissemination of best practice through their contribution to research, guides and case studies. Freight Best Practice   The Freight Best Practice Programme promotes operational eficiency and CO2 reductions within freight operations. The programme encourages fleet operators to improve the efficient use of their vehicles, reducing travel time and fuel consumption; it allows freight operators to save money by showing them the practical steps they can take. All these recommendations, publicised through publications, DVDs and workshops, are delivered for free. Freight Best Practice is funded by the Department for Transport and managed by AECOM to promote operational effieciency within freight operations in England. The programme is a key part of the Government´s commitment to improving the efficiency with which energy is used by stimulating the uptake of best practice.
